Data is stored in two categories: Data for which you want to view trends and performance troubleshooting data. You can specify the different types of data to be retained in the data repository. It is recommended that you store data for which you want to view trends over a longer period of time than performance troubleshooting data that you are more likely to need only for a short period of time.
Data is stored for each category for an indefinite period of time. This means that data in your data repository is never automatically deleted. However, you should ensure that there is enough storage space available for potentially large amounts of data.
This also applies to the folder where you store your data files (html files, csv files, etc.)
The current size occupied by the data tables and associated indexes in each category is displayed in the table. The current total size of all categories is also displayed.
Use all the following SQL queries:
-
Dashboard > SQL Database:
-
Delete rows in the results area if you want to delete records in the database. If you want to delete all rows, you can use a delete query.
To do this, use the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Reduction of data retention
The amount of disk space you have available in your data repository to store collected data. If disk space is a problem, you might want to delete high volume data more frequently.
How does V8 Search XE handle deleted data?
For analysis data, the graph displays an empty area for data that no longer exists. This is the same as on the overview pages.
Data for which you want to view trends
In the v8 sql database, all data tables for displaying trends are displayed at the beginning of the table names with "V8C".
All other data for the system or as performance data for troubleshooting.
